Getting started with a new mail marketing campaign can be daunting. Especially if you’re finding yourself short on design savvy and/or time. CITYMAIL offers complete design services for your next mail marketing campaign!

Whether you’ve got photos, text, graphics or just a simple idea—we’ll work with what you’ve got to make your next direct mail piece a success! Simply go to our contact page or fill out the form to the right→ with some details. If you have artwork or photos for your design, you can attach them in an e-mail to info@citymailusa.com. We will respond as soon as possible with a follow-up and a quote for your project.


How Should I Send My Files?

If You Are Using CITYMAIL’s Complete Design Service—

Images:

  • Send any photos or images you’d like us to use as JPEG or PNG files to info@citymailusa.com

  • Should be high-quality images (300dpi)

Sending your logo:

  • If possible, please have a high quality PNG format file available with no background. Logo design or re-design service is available for a fee.

Sending text:

  • You can simply enter text into the body of an e-mail or send as a word file

  • Text doesn’t have to be perfect—we’ll do a final review for grammar and typos

Remember, we’ll always send a file of your final proof for approval.


If you have a design already created or are planning to create your own, please see the guidelines below to ensure fast processing and quality outcome:

  • Send it as a PDF file (front and back should be on their own separate pages)

  • All images and text should be embedded in the file

  • No crop marks

  • Extend art for bleeds 1/8” beyond edges

Important Note on Colors:

  • Colors should be in CMYK not RGB – or if you have specific Pantone Spot colors – please inquire.

Tip: Try not to use neon colors in your design – see photo below.

If you need help, our graphics department can always assist you! Please note: design fee of $60 or more may apply to edit your files. This is to ensure your prints meet the highest quality standards.


Frequently Asked Design Questions:

What if I need physical proofs?

Physical proofs are available for a small fee, but please note that they are only an approximation of the final product. This is because bulk orders are done via a different type of press that requires plate setup, whereas proofs which are only one or two pieces will be done via digital print. Both methods may produce slightly different results.

If I am creating my own design, what programs do you recommend?

You don’t necessarily need a super high-end program at your fingertips to create a design you’re happy with. However, it DOES depend on how specific you want to be about things like color accuracy, clarity, and fonts. If your design requires a high level of accuracy, precision colors, or specific signature fonts, you should AVOID using online services such as CANVA. Our best recommendation in this case is always to use our full design service or a professional graphic designer of your own choice.

What if I created my own design already and I need high quality prints, but I’m not sure if my creation meets the standards for best quality print?

That’s okay! You still have the option to use CITYMAIL’s in-house graphic design experts who can get your file in ship-shape. This service may incur a fee depending on the complexity of re-design.
